The Ministry of Energy has enacted O. Reg 20/17 - Reporting of Energy Consumption and Water Use, Under this regulation, phased mandatory reporting will being on July 1, 2018. As a trusted industry association, we have put together this educational session for the Mid-Tier sector to help you prepare for the impending regulation. We'll be bringing in experts from Toronto Hydro to assist with this as well as our team from race2reduce which supports buildings in their energy reduction efforts.

As a trusted industry association, we have put together this educational session for the Mid-Tier sector to help you prepare for the impending regulation. 

BOMA Toronto was involved in the consultation process for the regulation and represented the interests of the Commercial Real Estate industry during these discussions. Additionally, our race2reduce program is aimed at helping buildings reduce energy use and collect data in preparation for the regulation.

Joe Bilé, Toronto Hydro

Joe Bilé is Manager of Conservation Demand Management Program Delivery and Business Development at Toronto Hydro. Joe has over 24 years of experience in the energy management industry. Joe graduated as a mechanical engineer from the University of Waterloo in 1986 and received a MBA with Distinction from the Schulich School of Business in 2004. He is a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and a LEED Accredited Professional.

Bala Gnanam, Director, Sustainable Building Operations & Strategic Partnerships

Bala Gnanam is the Director of Sustainability and Building Technologies of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Greater Toronto Area (BOMA Toronto). He is responsible for managing, coordinating, and facilitating the development and delivery of educational contents, programs, and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory compliance to the membership.  Bala is also the BOMA Toronto’s technical liaison and involved in business development and strategic partnerships.  Bala is an industrial engineer and a Certified Energy Manager with over fifteen years of experience in the energy and manufacturing sectors. Prior to his current role Bala was with an energy consulting firm as their Senior Program Manager responsible for the delivery of CDM services to multiple local electricity distribution companies in Ontario, and prior to that  he managed the BOMA Toronto Conservation and Demand Management Program as its Director of Projects and Operations.
