Due Diligence Regulatory Webinar #4: Elevator Maintenance Control Program & Operational Best Practices

Wednesday, February 26th, 2020 | 9:00am - 10:00am

Elevating devices are complex machinery that require regular inspection and maintenance to ensure safe operation. In Ontario TSSA enforces delivery of the Elevating Devices Act. Legislation here starts with CAN/CSA B44 Elevator Safety Code; Maintenance Control Program (MCP) requirements apply to every building owner and manager who has one or more elevating devices in their building that falls under the code. This includes all Passenger and Freight Elevators, Freight Lifts, LULAs, Dumbwaiters, Escalators and Moving Walks. Noncompliance may lead to hefty fines or shutting down of elevators or both, impacting your ability to fulfil your service obligations to your tenants. Join our elevator expert from KJA Consultants, Andrew Wells, as we explore this subject and offer guidance that’s helpful with becoming better informed.

Topics for discussion include:

  • Your obligations under the law
  • What is MCP?
  • What you need to ask from your elevator service contractor(s)
  • Operational best practices
