Global Adjustment (GA) Strategy Class A or Class B

Industry experts Tim Christie of Ontario Ministry of Energy, Rob Edwards of IESO, Brian Hewson of Ontario Energy Board, and Gabriela Guinzani and Scott Rouse of Energy@Work provided updates on GA and GAM rules, practical perspectives and case studies, along with shared experiences to help building operators determine the best GA strategy going forward.

Industrial Conservation Initiative: Important dates 

May 1: 12-month base period by which participant ICI eligibility is assessed and peak demand factor measured  

May 31: deadline for local distribution companies to calculate & issue peak demand factors for eligible customers 

June 15: ICI deadlines: a) for customers in the >500kW range to opt in to ICI 
b) for customers above 5MW to opt out of ICI and 

July 1: start of 12-month adjustment period where participants are billed as Class A

IESO: The biggest opportunity for Class B consumers to manage their electricity costs is by reducing their kWh; there are many Save on Energy programs available to the CRE sector. 

 

Save on Energy programs are delivered by service providers/delivery partners to help consumers in Ontario determine which programs are best suited for them.
